Dear Dragons,
The UIL released it's last Lone Star Cup Update for the 2011-2012 school year. The Dragons have finished the year in first place! Final results will become official on July 1.
The UIL Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to five high schools, one in each of the five UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A), based on their team performance in district and state championships. The winning schools in each classification will receive the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship, also presented by the UIL.
Honoring the best overall athletic and academic programs in Texas, the UIL Lone Star Cup is open to all UIL participant high schools.

On behalf of the CISD Athletic Department, I'd like to thank all of our student-athletes, parents, administrators, and the Dragon Nation for your efforts this year. With 5 team state championships, 3 individual state championships, numerous district championships, and every team except one making the playoffs this year, and now the Lone Star Cup there is zero doubt that we had the best 5A year in athletics in UIL history.
Personally, I'd like to thank or coaching staff, the best coaching staff in America, and all Dragons for allowing my family and I to be a part of a magical year in a magical place.
It is a great day to be a Dragon!
